Dipper: GPS Area Measure

Field photos

Photos make a measurement easier to recognize later and show what was there, such as a damaged fence, a gate or a boundary marker.

Take photos while you measure

Tap the camera button on the map while measuring. Each photo is stamped with the position and the direction the camera faced. If there is no GPS fix yet, the app says so and saves the photo without a location.

With an RTK receiver connected, photos use the receiver's position while it has a current fix, and the phone's GPS otherwise. This is set under Photo location on the receiver page.

Add photos to a saved measurement

Open the measurement and use Take photo or Add photos in its Photos section. Photos added from your library keep the location they were taken at, if they have one.

On the map and in the report

Photos with a location appear on the measurement's map as markers pointing the way the camera faced; Show photo markers and Hide photo markers switch them on and off. The PDF report includes the photos with their position and direction.

Remove a photo

Open the photo in the measurement and choose Remove photo. Photos stay on your device like the rest of your measurements.
